Introduction
Hi, I'm Ali Zafar, the person behind FinCalc. I've spent years buried in spreadsheets working out mortgage overpayment schedules, comparing loan offers, and modelling what compound interest could actually do to a portfolio over 20 or 30 years. Every time, I ended up rebuilding the same formulas from scratch.
FinCalc is the tool I wished existed: fast, free, and clear enough that you don't need a finance degree to use it.
Why I Built These Calculators
Most finance calculators online are either locked behind a lead-generation form, cluttered with ads, or so simplified they hide the assumptions baked into the maths. I wanted something different:
- Transparent formulas — every result traces back to a formula you can check yourself.
- No paywalls or signups — the calculators are free to use, instantly, on any device.
- Real-world detail — inflation adjustment, overpayments, currency support and amortisation schedules, not just a single headline number.
My Mission
My mission is simple: help people make better financial decisions by making the maths behind mortgages, loans and investing easy to see and easy to trust. Whether you're deciding how much to overpay your mortgage, comparing loan terms, or planning for retirement with compound growth, FinCalc aims to show you the full picture — including how inflation quietly erodes future value.
